What does a Celebrant Cost?

How  long is a piece of wedding ribbon?

Getting married can be really financially worrying –  it’s understandable that one of the first considerations is BUDGET. However, this is where having the right celebrant and taking the time to research on more than rate alone will save you money.

Currently there are 3,500 celebrants available to you in Australia. That’s a lot!

The benefit is that you have the opportunity to select someone who you really connect with. There is a new wave of creativity flowing through civil ceremonies of today (even if they follow tradition) and this is a wonderful opportunity for you to make the most of it. Through the right celebrant!

Returning to the frequently asked question about cost. You may ask for “nothing fancy and just the basics” or “something different” – the reality is that we all naturally have different perceptions of what these mean.

I ask lots and lots of questions.

Some are legal requirements ….

Are you both over the age of 18?

Have either of you had any prior marriages?

Where are you both originally from (country of birth)?

Some are to gauge an understanding of logistical requirements …

What is the location, venue, Plan B?

How large is your ceremony envisaged to be?

Will you have the full monty bridal party … or will it just be the two of you as the main feature?

Some questions are best answered with more open communication …

What type of ceremony do you have in mind?

“Mmmmm,” you respond. For this is a question you may need careful direction with.

The reason why I encourage dialogue regarding this question is because …. firstly it’s exciting! You are getting married! I want to hear your voice and connect with you, rummage up your thoughts and instil excitement, inspiration, happiness. Secondly, how can you answer this question when you are possibly not aware of all the options?

Options, options, options!

I encourage you to think laterally because this independent thinking, this ability to not just go through the motions of what you think everyone else is expecting or what’s “the done thing” will ultimately result in  your ceremony being absolutely unique to you.

I will help you in every way to have a dignified, beautiful, entertaining, fun and genuine wedding. I will  explore notions of formality and informality, levels of creativity with the selection of original writing of your wedding vows, cultural influences, possibilities of incorporating other artistic elements and aesthetics, your thoughts around rituals (if you so desire),  nuances with family if there are special considerations ….  plus, remember, I will provide you with referrals and advice along the way that will also likely save you time and money.

So, if you are seeking personalised, tailored services in your celebrant, you have come to the right place. Just be aware: I am not your average celebrant!

Look forward to hearing from you soon!
