Civil Ceremonies give me a Reason to be Thankful this Thanks Giving!

Colourful Celebrant Joanne Armstrong thanks you

Today, I give thanks to the beautiful people who have come into my life and enriched it through their desire to use my services as a marriage celebrant! In fact there are many things that I am grateful for that this wonderful profession is affording me but I will narrow it down (and annually) and direct it to the brides and grooms this time around.

Three Little Thank You’s

1) Brides and grooms who remain true to themselves

Encouraging brides and grooms to think outside the square when it comes to their wedding ceremony is EASY, particularly when you are open to new ideas and prepared to be yourself.

2) Environmentally friendly solutions get the tick

When there are opportunities to move from paper-based forms to electronic forms and you are eager to adopt this approach, I am filled with glee. For instance, completion of a Notice of Intended Marriage Form via a PDF saves four sheets of A4.

3) Proactive and organised couples

I have found that my most motivated couples are the ones who focus on getting the bulk of the work done as early on as possible. It always results in their being able to relax a bit more in the lead up to their wedding date. Work done now pays off down the track.

I wonder what I will be saying thank you for next year…

Hopefully my thanks can be directed to the pollies and for the legislative amendments that have allowed for equality in marriage.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanks Giving.
