Creative Wedding Ceremony Content PART 1: it is easier than you think if you share a story or two
Just one holiday and I have so many memories of lumping a great big beast of a caravan across Wales to go to a friend’s wedding in Pembrokeshire. Gosh it was fun! There was never a moment where we did not indulge because time was not on our side. It never is. There is simply never ever enough time.
We were so determined to make the most of it – come rain or shine (and in Wales there is a LOT of rain!) that we combatted it by going for walks in the forest with full waterproof gear on. Despite everyone’s warnings before we even went on holiday that the weather would be, we pressed ahead and our efforts paid off. Come rain or come shine we had the time of our lives.
One particular evening, thanks to downpours followed by intermittent periods of mist and sunshine, a massive vivid rainbow graced our front lawn. Actually, the caravan was parked in the middle of a huge meadow. Sheep bleeped.
It was bliss. There was no time like the present to pop open a bottle of champers and have our salmon on toast with avocado! One memory never to be forgotten.
And so, my friends, if you have ever been on holiday with your loved one (and no doubt you have .. well I HOPE you have if you’re getting married!!!) just think back on the simple stuff that made you laugh, made you cry, made you love them even more. These stories to tell are brilliant because they are your own. Do not take for granted that your closest friends and family attending your wedding ceremony know these stories either. By weaving adventures from the past into your story and sharing simple aspects that you remember, it is more real.
The sources of material potentially used about people you have both met, places you have seen, things you have down whilst living of the dream … is abundant. Don’t be afraid to reminisce and mention examples of some of those simple but stand-out moments in your lives.
