We knew that Jo was the person we wanted to guide us through our marriage journey as soon as we heard her voice on the phone. Jo introduced herself as “not you average celebrant” – and she was right. That is what we love about her. Jo went above and beyond ‘average’ celebrant ‘duties’ in so many ways:

Jo put in the extra effort to get to know us both as a couple and as individuals. She was always available for a one-on-one chat, and made sure that we met up multiple times before our big day.
Jo made us really think about why we wanted to get married. Through both her anecdotes and the questionnaire she (made very sure!) we thoroughly filled in, we almost unknowingly went through an entire re-evaluation of ourselves and our relationship. This was so refreshing, it made us take a step back & realise that this whole this was about us. We even learned a few things about each other along the way!
Jo explained all the legal process, including when and where documents need to be dealt with, clearly & made sure that we were on top of it.
Jo is a chameleon – she told us that she could be “as filthy rude or as polite & on-script as you want”. She is always herself, and 100% honoured the tone we wanted for our ceremony. Jo charmed the guests, got to know the families, cracked a few jokes to calm Andrew down, described our relationship beautifully and had both of us giggling and enjoying our special moment.
Jo is incredibly professional. She conducted our rehearsal efficiently and took everything under her control when she arrived on the day of the ceremony. Her ‘celebrant’ voice was/is beautiful. We didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Jo won’t let you slack off! When things needed to be completed, she made sure that we had those documents to her. A personal thank you from the bride for being so patient as I (very uncharacteristically) had a difficult time writing my vowels.
Jo has the BIGGEST heart. She cares about every couple she weds, and absolutely loves being a celebrant.
